Alexa Chung started a modeling career at the age of 16. She was discovered by the Elite Model agency while watching “The Clothes Show” when she was 14, but she only pursued a modeling career two years later when the London-based Storm Modeling agency approached her at a Reading Festival. Since then, Alexa Chung appeared in various teen mags, such as CosmoGirl and Elle Girl. Alexa Chung also became the face of ad campaigns of Sunsilk, Tampax, Urban Outfitters, Fanta and Sony Ericsson. Aside from advertisements, Alexa Chung also appeared on various music videos for artists such as Holly Valance, Reuben, Westlife, The Streets and Delta Goodrem.

In 2005, Alexa made her TV debut in the scripted reality series “Shoot Me.” She then quit modeling and focused her career on the small screen. In 2006 to 2007, Alexa Chung won a spot on the Channel 4 TV show “Popworld” alongside MTV presenter Alex Zane. During this time, the duo also presented a weekly online radio show “Popword Radio,” which received the Bronze Music prize from Sony Radio Academy Awards. In 2007, Alexa Chung starred in the ITV1 satirical series “Get a Grip” alongside comedian Ben Elton.

When Alexa Chung signed a £100,000 deal with Channel 4 in 2007, she became the presenter for many of the network’s shows including “T in the Park,” “8 Out of 10 Cats,” “Big Brother’s Big Mouth,” and several T4 specials such as “T4 Movie Specials,” “T4 Holiday Mornings,” “T4 on the Beach,” and “T4 Music Specials.” On September 2007, Alexa Chung started presenting the Channel 4 morning music program “Freshly Squeezed,” alongside Rick Edwards and Nick Grimshaw. With plenty of TV exposure, Alexa Chung was included in Broadcast’s list of “Hot 100 Talent” by the end of 2007, ranking number 18. She was then seen in T4’s “Vanity Lair,” BBC Three’s “The Wall,” Channel 4’s “Gok’s Fashion Fix” and T4 Music’s “Frock Me!” On April 2009, Alexa Chung signed on with U.S. MTV for her own TV talk show “The Alexa Chung Show.”

Aside from her TV gigs, Alexa Chung also wrote for the British mag “Company,” writing a monthly column from October 2007 to June 2008. She then switched to “The Independent” newspaper, where her weekly column entitled “Girl about Town” is published every Wednesday. Alexa Chung also supports several charities including World AIDS Day, The Big Ask, Greenpeace, Terrence Higgins Trust, Attitude is Everything and Product Red.

Alexa Chung went back to her modeling roots in 2008 as the face of the 2008 Spring-Summer collection of Antipodium and Oxfam’s ethical fashion range called ‘Revamped.’ On September 2008, Alexa walked the catwalk for the 2009 Spring/Summer Vivienne Westwood Red Label show at the London Fashion Week. On March 2009, Alexa Chung became the face for the newest ‘New Look’ campaign.
